Getting Here

Boblainy Forest is about 1 mile to the south of the village of Kiltarlity, 5 miles from Beauly and 13 miles from Inverness.

There are two main entrances to the forest, both with some space for car parking.

Directions

Ardendrain

OS grid reference: NH504376
Postcode (approximate): IV4 7HS

  • Head south on the A833 road, and up a large hill to Ardendrain.
  • Turn right onto a minor road, next to a sign for Scottish Water.
  • Follow this minor road for 1 mile, until it ends at a gate, with several spaces for parking.
  • The gate on the right goes into the forest. The left gate is a private road to the water treatment works.

Culburnie

OS grid reference: NH484409
Postcode (approximate): IV4 7JJ

  • Head south on the A833 road, then turn right at Brockies Lodge Hotel, signposted for “Kiltarlity, Cannich”.
  • Follow the minor road through Kiltarlity village.
  • After leaving the village, continue for 1/2 mile to a junction.
  • Follow the road as it swings to the left, signposted for “Culburnie, Eskadale, Struy”.
  • Head uphill for about 1/2 mile, then turn left on the minor road just after the old schoolhouse.
  • The forest entrance is along this road on the left. There are several parking spaces just inside the gate.

Public transport

There is a regular bus service between Kiltarlity and Inverness, operated by D&E Coaches. This passes by the Culburnie road, 1/2 a mile from the forest entrance.
Also several local buses, operated by Ross’s Minibuses.

The nearest railway station is at Beauly, 5 miles away.
